Abstract:Taking Shanghai and the independent tourists visiting to Shanghai as a study object, travel itineraries are collected based on face to face interviews. On the temporal-spatial statistical analysis of different visiting experience, this thesis concludes spatial behavior features of domestic tourists using kernel density estimation method as follows: 1) The spatial behaviors of tourists to Shanghai show significant characteristic changes with the increase of their visiting frequency, that is to say, the scenic spots in the main central urban areas attract those who visit Shanghai for the first time, which forms a "mononuclear modein" spatial behavior agglomeration; the behaviors of the tourists who visit Shanghai for the second time are expanded from the city center to the suburbs, which produces a "mononuclear spillover mode" in spatial behavior agglomeration; 2) The tourists who visit Shanghai for the first time tend to stay longer or cover more scenic spots per day. While those who visit Shanghai for the second time or more stay relatively less time or see relatively fewer scenic spots per day. Tourism activities also spread from the city center to suburb scenic spots, showing the tendency of visiting a single scenic area, or the most representative one, with less choice of the tourist lines, such as "multiple scenic spots in one day", "multiple scenic spots in several days", etc. 3) With the increase of tourists' visits to Shanghai, tourist spatial behaviors have shifted from the "mononuclear mode" in central urban areas to the "multinuclear mode" in both central urban and suburban areas, along with shorter staying time and fewer scenic spots.
